Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and [Your Legal Entity Name] ("we", "us") governing your use of the Leave On Time mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the Service.
2. What the Service does
Leave On Time reads events from your device's calendar (with your permission), computes traffic-aware drive times to event locations, and sends you push and/or email reminders at the calculated leave-by time. The Service is a productivity aid, not a guarantee. Traffic conditions, your driving speed, route choice, road closures, weather, and many other factors can change between the time we compute a reminder and the time you leave. Always check road conditions and use your judgment before driving.
3. Account
- You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to use the Service.
- You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- One person per account. Don't share your account.
- You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account or by emailing [email protected].
4. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, defraud, or harm anyone.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass paywalls, rate limits, or authentication.
- Scrape the Service or access it through unauthorized means.
- Use the Service to violate applicable law, including drug-driving / distracted-driving statutes.
- Resell access to the Service or its outputs.
We may suspend or terminate your access for violations.
5. Subscriptions and payments
If we offer paid features:
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store or Google Play, per their billing terms. You manage your subscription in your platform's settings; we don't directly process payment data.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple / Google per their policies. We can't directly refund a platform-billed subscription, but we'll help you understand the platform's refund flow.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including the app, its design, branding, and content, is owned by us. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service while these Terms are in effect.
Your calendar event data remains yours. We process it as described in the Privacy Policy to provide the Service.
7. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL ALWAYS DELIVER REMINDERS ON TIME, OR THAT TRAFFIC AND TRAVEL-TIME ESTIMATES WILL BE ACCURATE.
YOU REMAIN RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRIVING AT YOUR EVENTS, FOR SAFE DRIVING, AND FOR COMPLYING WITH ALL APPLICABLE TRAFFIC LAWS.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOST PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) $50 USD.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations. In those, the above limitations apply to the extent permitted by law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app and via email. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State / Country], without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in [Your County, State], and you consent to that jurisdiction.
